The Gerhard Schubert GmbH Company, Crailsheim, Germany, has perfected its picker lines with transmodules. Transmodules are intelligent vehicles which are driven by a servomotor and carry out numerous transport tasks. For some time now, transmodules have been driven with continuous-line control and used for continuous operation or for a combination of cyclical and continuous movement. According to Gerhard Schubert, transmodules will change the world of packaging machines: “Thanks to the transmodule, the flexibility of packaging machines has increased to such a degree that a bright future can already be predicted for it." Hence the company has been integrating transmodules into its packaging machines with great success since September 2008. The newest version will be shown at the ProSweets exhibition (Cologne, 29th January to 1st February 2012); a picker line for chocolate bears, cookies and candies. The line will run in a non-stop operation and features transmodules as transport elements.
