The ebro Electronic GmbH Company from Ingolstadt, Germany, has produced a new data logger for temperature monitoring in transportation or during storage which is easy to operate. The EBI 300 connects to the USB port of a PC and after using the logger the user can access the recorded data anywhere with the EBI 300’s automatic PDF report generation capability and any commonly available PDF reader software.  This logger was designed with the user in mind to minimize training requirements, user errors and IT costs often seen with other loggers that require proprietary software to read the data.  Therefore, the EBI 300 is useful for transport, for the storage of food, in catering or process monitoring. The compact logger can be used for ambient temperature measurement as well as for core temperature measurement (within the temperature range from –35 °C to +60 °C with an accuracy of ± 0.5 °C) using an external probe; it is waterproof and has a memory of 40,000 measuring values. ebro was established in 1968 and is today a middle-sized company with approximately 100 employees. As part of ITT Analytics, the company develops and produces electronic handheld instruments and data loggers including programming and evaluation software; these products are distributed globally.
