Corn Product International Inc., Chicago, is one of the biggest maize processors and suppliers of raw materials worldwide. In 2009, their revenue was $ 3.6 bn (about € 2.6 bn). Thus, the acquisition of the starch manufacturer National Starch planned recently by Corn Product has come closer to realization. As it reads, the Federal Trade Commission has given the go-ahead for the reduction of the idle time relating to the acquisition of the Akzo-Nobel-subsidiary. Still, some legal questions need to be checked. As new date of acquisition end of September/early October 2010 is aimed.
