The Lantmännen Unibake Company from Horsens, Denmark, has investigated international consumer habits and preferences when buying bread. According to this Bread Barometer survey, the trend arrow points especially to whole grain products and on-the-go meals as some of the prominent trends. In addition, consumers buy bread loaves, above all, off the supermarket shelves – with the exception of Belgian consumers. The Bread Barometer survey was carried out in February 2011 as a web survey with 500 respondents from Denmark, Sweden, Belgium and England. The survey was executed by the Danish research company Gersdorff Research on behalf of Lantmännen. The company has annual revenues of 733m EUR and employs 4,000 people in 19 countries.
