Growing private label sales in the US

Planet Retail’s first-ever ranking of the Top 30 private label grocery retailers in North America shows that these companies generate more than 150 bn USD in private label sales, or 21.6 % of total grocery sales. The private label grocery sector is largely dominated by Walmart which generated 32.4 bn USD in sales, totalling more than Kroger and Costco’s private label sales combined.

2. Kroger: 19.6 bn USD
3. Aldi (with Trader Joe’s): 10.2 bn USD
4. Costco: 9.3 bn USD
5. Safeway: 9.1 bn USD
6. Loblaw: 6.7 bn USD
7. Target:    6.7 bn USD
8. SuperValu: 6.4 bn USD
9. Publix: 5.2 bn USD
10. Ahold: 4.2 bn USD
