Europastry invests for € 20 m

The Spanish company Europastry S.A. from Barcelona will close the financial year 2010 registering an investment of € 20 m. The money will be put into the development of its installation production and the logistic area. This was announced in the company’s press release some weeks ago. Of the budget, € 12 m will be used for the take off of the third production line of the bread “Gran Reserva” at its plant in Vallmoll. With the remaining € 8 m Europastry will implement the final tranche of the investment in automated warehouse of Vallmoll. After the operation the platform will be the third in capacity in Spain, possessing a potential of 20,000 pallets. On its homepage, it reads that Europastry is the third European producer of frozen dough, just behind of Lantmännen or Vandemoortele, and the Spanish market leader. During 2009, Europastry had a turnover of € 370 m, with a growth of 6 % compared to 2008.
